Honjima is an island belonging to the city of Kagawa. The area is 6.74 kilometers, and the perimeter is 16.4 kilometers. The distance from the mainland is about ten kilometers. In the heart of the Salt Sea, you can see the salt station where four of the elderly served on duty, and the old salt-water island, where the old salt-waters were built with narrow alleys built to protect them from enemy attacks. It's still the most numerous of the salt islands. The present population is 326 on April 1st, 2018.
History
March 31st of 1954 - joined Honjima Village. A tanker and cargo ship crashed on March 22, 1979, off the coast of Akishima Lighthouse.
